VerifyEmail checks whether an email address is real. This page says what it handles.
What is sent
When you use the formula, the email addresses in your cells are sent to this service, and from there to an email-verification provider that checks them. Only the addresses you ask about are sent, not the rest of your workbook.
What is stored
- A random install ID, created on your computer the first time you use the add-in. It is not linked to your name, email or account. It is used to count your 50 daily checks.
- Daily counts of checks per install ID and per network address, kept about 3 days, to enforce the limit and stop abuse.
- Recent results for addresses you checked, kept about 2 days so that asking again does not repeat a paid check.
What is not done
- No cookies, no advertising, no analytics.
- Your results are not sold or shared, except with the verification provider that performs the check.
Removing your data
Stored results and counts expire on their own within a few days. To ask for earlier removal, use the contact on the support page and include your install ID if you have it.
